After a great time at the Pokémon League Games, our young companions arrive back in Viridian City.  Winter has set in and the first snow has begun to fall.
    “Yea!  Billy, do you know what today is?”
    “Uh huh, it’s Jynxmas Eve!”  Jynxmas is a special time of the year when people exchange gifts and no pokémon battles are allowed.  It’s a day when everyone can sit back and enjoy the company of their families and friends.  “Um, I gotta go somewhere, I’ll meet you back here in 15 minutes.”
    “Oh, all right.  Come to think of it, I need to run somewhere too.  We’ll both meet eachother back here in 15 minutes.”  Ri grabbed Aqua and ran off in one direction while Billy took Nidoran and ran the opposite way.
    “Excuse me, I want to buy my girlfriend the best Jynxmas present there is.”  The store clerk looked at Billy and his Nidoran.
    “I’ve got just the thing.”  He went into the back room and brought back a shiny pink pokéball with red ribbon wrapped around it.  “There, your girlfriend will really love this pokémon.”  He whispered the name into Billy’s ear.
    “Yea!  Thank you so much!  Bye!  Happy Jynxmas!”
    “Happy Jynxmas!”
    Meanwhile, on the other side of town, Ri was hunting for the perfect gift to give Billy.  “Umm, sir, I’m looking for a gift to give my boyfriend, but I’m not sure what it is.  He’s just getting into pokémon.”
    “Hmm, hold on a sec while I check the storeroom in the back.”  The clerk disappeared into the back room.  He came back out with a yellow colored pokéball.  “Here, this is a very special pokémon.  It was just recently discovered.  I’ve had many nice comments on it.  I know your friend will enjoy it.”  Ri took the pokéball and went back to the place they said they’d meet.
    They both arrived at the same time.  “Hi.  Ok, let’s get some dinner, it’s really late.”
    “Yeah.  I also heard that Team Rocket owns the gym in this city, so we should be careful.”  Ri nodded and they headed to the pokécenter to have dinner.
    They ordered their dinner from the Chansey waitress and ate.  “I hope Jynx brings me lots of neat toys tomorrow morning.”
    Billy didn’t look as happy.  “Ri…  Do you think my parents will ever understand what I want to be?”  He sighed.  “All I want for Jynxmas is for them to accept my choice in being a pokémon trainer.”
    “Well, I think they will.  Hey, that reminds me, I gotta call my mom and ask if daddy’s home.”  Ri ran out to the video phone booths.  She dialed her home number.
    “Hello.  Dee residence.”
    “Hi mom, it’s me Ri!”
    “Oh hello honey.  I’ve got someone special who wants to talk to you.”  Ri’s face lit up.
    “Hey sweetie.  How’s my favorite little girl doing?”
    “Daddy!  You’re home again.  I’m fine.  Billy and me are in Viridian City.  We’re spending Jynxmas here in the pokécenter.”
    “Great!  I can’t wait to see you again sweetheart.  Your mother and I are looking forward to visiting you guys as soon as possible.”
    “Cool!  Well, I better go to bed now before the Jynx comes.  Happy Jynxmas mommy, daddy.  See ya soon!”  She hung up the phone and went back to a room with Billy.
    “Goodnight Ri.”
    “Goodnight Billy.”

    It was very cold that night but Ri and Billy just made sure they were close enough to keep warm since the center was pressed for blankets.  Their pokémon rested inside their warm and cozy pokéballs.
    Morning came and the two friends woke up with the Dodrio.
    “Ahhh…  Good morning Ri.  Happy Jynxmas!”
    “Hehehe, same to you Billy.”  Ri hopped out of bed and retrieved her gift to Billy.  While she was gone, Billy took out the pokéball from his pillow, his gift to Ri.
    Ri decided she’d see if anyone was working to lobby this morning.  “Hhh,” she gasped.  There in the lobby were Billy’s mother and father.  Behind them were Ri’s parents.
    “Oh, the kids will be so surprised to see us here.  Now, don’t you two see what a happy place this is?  Pokécenters are one of the main meeting areas for pokémon trainers now a day.”
    “Hmm…,” Billy’s father groaned.  His wife cleared her throat.  “Sorry.  Yea, this is a very well maintained facility.”
    “Why thank you,” Nurse Joy said as she came out from the lounge.  “Happy Jynxmas.  I’m Nurse Joy, the manager of this pokécenter.  Please relax, have a seat.”  With that, she returned to her desk.  Even on Jynxmas, her work didn’t stop.  True dedication.
    Ri turned back quickly.  “Billy, you are not going to believe this.”
    “What?”
    She grabbed his arm.  “C’mon, I’ll show you.”  She ran into the lobby with Billy.  “Hi mommy, hi daddy!”  She let go of Billy and ran into her parents’ arms.
    “Billy!  Happy Jynxmas, Billy.”  His mother and father have him a big, warm hug.  “Billy, your mother and I have given you decision a great deal of thought and, well, here son, open it.”
    Billy changed to be very curious as to what was inside.  Meanwhile, his Nidoran was trying to catch all the action as well.  He picked him up and opened the present his parents had given him.  “Oh wow!”  Inside the box was a shiny new designed pokédex with six pokéballs, also redesigned.  “Thank you so much.  I love you both!”  They gave each other a big hug again.  “Ri, look at this!  Now I can really become a pokémon trainer!”
    “Awesome!”
    “Ri, how about you open your present from us sweetheart.”  Her mom handed her a small box.  Ri’s Horsea, Aqua watched as she opened it.
    “Oh my gosh,” she said in disbelief.  “How did you get this?  It’s so pretty!”  Inside the box was a small crystal charm shaped into a poké-egg.  The charm was attached to a silver necklace.  She put it around her neck.  “Look Billy, isn’t this the coolest thing you’ve ever seen?”
    “Besides you, yeah!”  Ri blushed.  She was wondered how Billy even thought up that line.  He was thinking the same thing.
    “Oh, Billy, this is for you.”  Ri handed Billy a yellow colored pokéball.  “Happy Jynxmas Billy.”
    “Wow, thanks Ri.  Hold on, I got you a pokémon too.”  Billy pulled out the pink colored pokémon with the red ribbons.  “Here Ri, happy Jynxmas.”  They opened the pokéballs at the same time.
    “Pi--chu!!!”
    “Nido!”
    “Wow!  Cool.”  Billy picked up his new pokémon.  “What’s its name?”  His new pokédex sprang into action.
    “Pichu, the mouse pokémon.  This pokémon is the primary stage before Pikachu.  It was just recently discovered during an exploration of mass Pikachu habitats.”
    “Pichu huh, that’s so cute.”  Pichu hopped onto Billy’s shoulder.  They were already friends.
    “Awww, it’s so cute Billy.”  Ri picked up the female Nidoran Billy got her.  “Let’s see, you will be called, Julie.”  Julie was please with her new name and cooed to show approval.  Then, she noticed Billy’s Nidoran.
    “Nido!”
    “Ran!”
    “Nido!”
    “Ran!”
    Suddenly, both Nidorans escaped their trainers and ran back to the room.  “That was odd.”  Everyone spent to rest of the day sharing memories and stories.  And Billy got his wish.  He felt like he was part of his family again.
