This is the Viridian Forest, home to many forest type pokémon
such as, Weedle…, Beedrills…, Pikachus [pika pika]…, and Kakuna…
Huh?!? Oh my, you’re right! I forgot all about the very SPECIAL
pokémon who live in this forest as well. ODDISH! Hahaha. Oh
course I’m kidding. The Viridian Forest is home to none other than
Icy, the great Bug Pokémon Master, and his favorite pokémon of all, CATERPIE!
Caterpie, Metapod, and Butterfree all roam free here in the Viridian Forest,
which is why Icy built his gym there a year ago. The Bug Gym, a now
official gym under the Indigo League after his return from the Spectral
Islands, has become a new stop for many trainers on their journeys.
When we last left our heroes, they were on an adventure to
seek out new pokémon species discovered in the Spectral Islands. But
they found more than they bargained for. They met Trinity, a budding pokémon
trainer from the Spectral Islands who later became a great ally in the fight
against Janus and The Dark Lord. [Scenes flash of the spectacular battle.]
Scary huh? Other discoveries were made as well. A totally
different type of pokémon was found. One that had the abilities of more
than two types, Suihou, the genetic water bubble pokémon was discovered.
Being the only one of its kind, its only memories are those from when it was
created in a laboratory. Since its discovery, Icy and his friends have
been searching for its birthplace.
While discovering new pokémon and battling Janus were
exciting enough, our heroes also participated in the Spectral League.
Icy and Trinity defeated every gym leader and finally, the two made it to the
final rounds of the championships. Icy finally defeated Trinity but was
beaten by a mysterious trainer in the last round making him finish 2nd.
Tough break huh. Maybe next year. After a great ceremony, the trio
departed together from the Spectral Islands and returned here, to the Viridian
Forest.
Since their return, Icy applied for becoming an official
Indigo League gym giving trainers a new badge to work for if they wanted.
But while the thrill of gym battles is great, Icy longs once again for
adventure. But where would he adventure to?
{New Intro plays with screen shots of some scenes from later episodes and new
pokémon}
The phone rang. “Icy, can you get that, I’m busy
feeding the caterpies.” Sara had on the counter nine bowls with each
caterpie’s name written on the side and was cooking up a delicious blend of
cooked leaves and berries. Well, you’d like it too if you were a
Caterpie. The phone rang again with Icy nearly tripping over Sandy, one
of the nine caterpies standing in the doorway.
“Whoa, look out guys!” Making a daring leap over
the rest, he grabbed the phone on the third ring. Panting, he answered,
“Hello, Viridian Forest Gym, Icy speaking.”
On the other end, he heard a familiar voice. “Icy,
good to speak to you again.”
“Hello professor, how is everything down south.”
“Modern I assure you. Ehem, I was calling to see
what you were up to and if you’ve discovered any new information about
Suihou.”
“Oh yea, that bubbly pokémon. Nothing except
he’s impossible to carry. That thing is made of pure water, I don’t
even think it has organs in there. But it does eat, so I guess it
must.”
“Hmm, it would be nice to know all about its anatomy as
well.”
“Whoa, hold the phone professor.”
Sara interrupted, “Bad pun…”
Icy jokingly made a face at her and continued, “You
aren’t even thinking of operating on this little guy. Seriously, its
all water, you cut him open, he’ll all spill out I bet.”
Oak replied laughing slightly, “No no, I would never do
that. Hahaha. We could always do an x-ray or something. In
any case, I have heard about a technology corporation based out of Dark Cove,
a region on the eastern continent, called PokéPowers Inc. They are the
east’s equivalent to Sliph Co. here. Their chairman and CEO is Willis
Powers, an extremely wealthy billionaire and pokémon fanatic. I was
wondering if you’d be interested in meeting with him to see what they could
do in determining Suihou’s origin.”
“The East continent huh… That’s a long journey.
I hope you’ve got a safe transportation in mind.”
“Oh, well… The only ship going across any time
soon is the S.S. Anne II.”
“The S.S. Anne II???” Icy flashbacked to his
memories aboard the original S.S. Anne and Clan Caterpie. Then he
remembered the doomed ship blew up! “Did they HAVE TO name it that?”
“Heh heh, I know the name’s not great, but they say
this ship won’t go down. Besides, Team Rocket is no more, thanks more
or less to you and many other gifted trainers. I don’t think there
would be any trouble.”
“What about icebergs?”
Sara looked up from handing out the bowls to the caterpies.
“Icebergs??? What are you and the professor talking about?”
Suddenly she felt a slight nibbling on her finger and realized Verde had
decided to eat more than his share. “Aghhh!!! Verde, ask for
more, don’t eat just eat the hand that feeds you.”
Icy made another face at her and went back to talking on
the phone with Oak. “Ok, if it’ll help find out about Suihou, I
guess we’ll do it. So when’s this party get started?”
“Party??? Oh yes, come to think of it, there will
be a party on board too.”
“Yippie, déjà vu…”
“I beg your pardon…”
“Nothing, go on.”
“Yes, well all the great trainers are being invited…
umm,” Oak stopped.
“AND I WASN’T!!!” Sara flinched back, startled
by Icy’s sudden loud tone. “Oops, ehheh, that’s ok, I was away,
that must be why.”
“No, they don’t generally invite gym trainers.
You guys aren’t supposed to leave your gyms…”
“Heh, have I ever listened to them?”
“Yes, you have actually, on multiple occasions.”
“That… wasn’t the answer I was particularly looking
for. So you’ve made special arrangements I presume.”
“Oh course. You might not be above the league, but
as official Indigo Pokémon Professor, I can bend the rules as I please.”
Oak couldn’t help but smile at the power he had. Too bad he rarely
exercised it.
“You’re great professor.”
“Thanks. I’m transmitting the info to you now.
Please read it over carefully. I wish you all luck in finding some
answers. Please don’t forget to call me once you arrive there.”
“We will professor. Thank you.”
“My pleasure Icy. Good day.”
Icy hung up the phone and turned to see Sara covered by
nine grinning caterpies. “Umm, you look busy, I’ll tell ya later.”
Sara pouted as Icy left the room.
Trinity was busy playing with Chonchii and Suihou.
She was running a small experiment on Suihou’s ability to absorb
electricity. “Chonchii, spark.” Chonchii sent his electricity
at Suihou who again absorbed the bolt. “That’s simply amazing.
Usually water should be harmed by electricity, but you aren’t even fazed.
Must be the Oddish DNA in you.” Suihou smiled happily.
“Strange thing…” Icy entered the room.
“So, what crazy mad scientist scheme are you pulling this
time Trinity?”
“Whaaa? Who are you calling crazy mister caterpie
lover how’s gotta have a billion of those crawly creatures wiggling all over
the place!” The caterpies found Trinity to be yet another, fun to play
games with, human, and would do so quite often.
“Ok ok. Any progress on Suihou?”
“Well, electric attacks are useless against it. It
just absorbs it all, watch. Chonchii, spark!” Chonchii once
again tried futilely to electrocute Suihou but failed.
“That’s really odd.”
“Oddish is more like it. Suihou has Oddish DNA
mixed in with the Poliwag and Ditto DNA. That must be how it grounds
itself. It’s a very strange pokémon.”
“It’s strange that the scientists who created it would
simply allow it to get away.”
“Maybe it ran away. Besides, isn’t genetic
testing on pokémon banned?”
“Here yes. But maybe not in other places. Oh,
by the way, that reminds me, Professor Oak just called. He said
there’s a pokémon technology company located on the east continent in Dark
Cove called PokéPowers. He wants the three of us to go there and see if
they can help determine more info on Suihou.”
“The Dave Cove, sounds creepy. My kinda city
^_^.”
“Great. We even get a free cruise aboard the S.S.
Anne II.”
“Two? Why can’t we take the original???”
“I dunno about you, but traveling above the water is much
safer on an open ship, than traveling along the ocean floor.”
“Huh???”
Icy sweatdropped. “It sank a year ago. This
is its sister ship. But the professor says there’s nothing to fear.”
“HA! Only wimps like you fear silly superstitions
like that. I’m not afraid of some ship. Besides, I like
swimming.”
“You’re amazing Trinity.”
Trinity bowed replying, “Thank you.”
Sara walked out, nine sad little caterpies following her.
“Oh stop that you guys, I fed you, perk up.” Sara turned to Icy.
“You really should teach them that my hair is not food…”
“Sorry Sara. You gotta admit, you do look cute in
caterpie ^.^”
Sara pouted again and turned to Trinity. “Any luck
on Suihou?”
“No… Icy was just telling me about that PokéPowers
company in Dark Cove that may be of some help to us. Guess it’s
another fun adventure for us all huh?”
“Nothing can top what Janus and the Dark Lord put us
through…” said Icy.
“Oh c’mon, what about Techor and Livy?” Sara
responded jokingly.
“Ha ha, those two were annoying too.”
The fax machine buzzed and Icy went to see what had come
through. The cover page had a large pokéball in the center with
Professor Oak’s signature underneath. “This looks like the info on
where to catch the S.S. Anne II.”
“Where’s it stopping?” Sara asked. Trinity
joined the two.
“Looks like we can catch it in two days at the Vermilion
City Docks.”
“Vermilion City. That’s not a short distance.
It’ll take at least a day to walk there.”
“Longer for me, I don’t even know where Vermilion City
is,” Trinity said.
“Ladies ladies, please. The noble Icy would never
have his girls tire their delicate legs walking. Cyber will fly us there
in no time.” Sara blushed while Trinity gave a reserved smile.
“Icy, since I’ve never been there, would either of you
mind if we left tomorrow. I’d like to see it.”
“Sure thing Trinity. Sara, that’s alright with
you?”
“Uh huh,” Sara said nodding.
“Ok. Make sure you’re all packed in the morning.
We’ll get there by afternoon so Trinity can see the sights.”
“Are ya gonna show her the pokémon gym there Icy?”
Sara asked nudging Icy.
“Ehheheh…”
Trinity just stared at the two, totally missing the inside
joke.
Sara looked at the clock. “Hmm, it’s getting
late. We outta get some sleep so we got lots of time to recharge for an
electrifying day in Vermilion City tomorrow.” Icy gave her a friendly
shove in the side to which Sara whimpered softly. Trinity was still as
confused as ever. The three went to sleep.
The next morning, Icy and Trinity woke to smell a wonderful
breakfast being cooked by Sara. “Oh, you two finally woke up.
‘Bout time. I made us all some breakfast before we go.” Icy
lifted an eyelid when he saw the lightning and pikachu shaped pancakes Sara
has so tediously cooked. “I thought it would get us in the
‘mood’.”
Icy simply laughed and the three sat down to eat.
“What’s with all the electric jokes and stuff between you two?” Trinity
finally asked. Icy sorta choked on the pancake he was eating.
“Hehehe, oh nothing. I’m just bugging Icy cause
he lost the first time he fought Surge.”
Icy finally swallowed what was in his mouth. “I got
back at that Raichu. Hey, wait, I didn’t lose. I did win… he
just got the upper hand first.”
“Uhh, you make it sound so personal,” Trinity said.
“Well, it kinda was, seeing I was the one battling that
Raichu. I showed him not to call pikachus inferior.”
“Right, ok… I’ll just go pack now.”
Trinity finished and packed her stuff. “Loco…”
“Are you already packed Sara?”
“Yes. How about you? I wanna head out too.
I’ve never been to Vermilion either.”
“Oh, that’s right. Don’t worry, I’ll only
need a few minutes.” Icy scarfed down the rest of his pikachu-shaped
pancakes and packed. Sara cleaned up everything and by the time she
finished, Icy and Trinity were ready to go.
“Alright! Vermilion City, here we come!”
“Ready, here we go, Icy calls, Cyber!!!” Icy’s
Porygon, Cyber, materialized. “Cyber, initiate automobile
transformation program now.”
“Ack, WAIT!!!! Not inside!!!”
“Oh yeah, let’s do that outside Cyber, ehheheheh…”
The three stepped outside, locking the gym on the way out.
Cyber transformed into a fair sized car for the three. They placed their
luggage in the trunk and Cyber sped off towards Pewter City.
“From Pewter City, we can fly over Mt. Moon to Vermilion
City.”
“Fly???” Trinity asked.
“Yes, Cyber here can be a jet plane too ^_^”
“Wow cool.” Trinity then remembered about the
visit they made to Data Island in the Spectral Island Chain.
{Flashback}
“It was a few years ago. We were working on a new
prototype Porygon version 1.1. This Porygon had the original computer
code but mixed with Ditto DNA to allow for shape shifting and re-writable
Porygon code.” The scientist went on about porygon and then about the
new porygons…
{End Flashback}
“Yea, we can take off at Pewter City International.”
“Ok, great.”
As they neared the exit of the Viridian City Forest, a
slight bluish flash caught Icy’s eye. “STOP CYBER!!!” Cyber
came to an immediate stop sending the three flying out. “Oww… not
like that… oooohhh…”
“Oww, Icy… You better have a good explanation for
this,” stormed Sara.
“I do, look there.” Icy pointed into the bushes.
Sure enough, a blue sparkle was seen from behind them.
“Wow, pretty. Hey look, it moved.”
“Do you think it’s a pokémon?”
“Yes.” Trinity pulled out some binoculars and
sure enough, it was a very small pokémon, a Pichu.
“What type is it?” Sra asked.
“It’s a Pichu, but it’s really small. You can
have it if you want.”
“Trinity! That’s harsh.”
“Hey whatever. Oh, if ya want it you better get
running, cause there it goes!”
“After it!!!” Sara shouted and called out her
butterfree Aura. “Aura, chase it down and tackle!!!”
Pichu glanced back and grinned. “Chuu!” It
dashed forward again. Aura was having a tough time keeping up with it.
As Aura began slowing down, Pichu looked back again. “Pihehehe, you
can’t catch me.” She flew down the forest faster and faster still
looking back. “PiheheheOWWWWWW” SMACK!!! Pichu’s body
went cold as it fell back from the tree it had just collided with.
“REEEE!!!” Aura flew ahead to see if the little
pichu was still alive. Sara was close behind.
“Oh my Goddish, the poor thing.” Sara arrived at
the tree the little pichu had run into. “Oh thank Goddish, its still
breathing.” She picked up the pichu noticing small blue gems lining
its black fur like a collar, but they were natural. “How strange.”
She tugged on one of the gems.
“PIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII” the little pichu
cried out and shocked Sara good.
“AGHHHHHH!!!!” Sara screamed dropping the pichu.
“CHUUU.” Pichu shook her head and inspected the
human that had hunted her down. She looked as if she wanted to go with
Sara.
“Sara? Are you and the pokémon alright?” Icy
called. Trinity was close behind.
“Yes, we are both fine. I found a Pichu. I
think I’ll capture it ^_^.” Sara took out a small pokéball and
expanded it. “Pichu, you are mine now. Pokéball GO!”
The ball smacked the little pichu in the head, as if the tree hadn’t done
enough damage to that area yet, and she was captured. The ball floated
back into Sara’s hand. “Well, that gives me three pokémon.
Maybe I should join a pokémon league too.”
“Yeah right Sara,” said Trinity.
“Hey, I wouldn’t be the one to talk. Remember, I
still beat you back there.”
“Don’t remind me… C’mon, let’s get
going.”
“I agree, come Sara,” Icy said kindly extending his
hand to her.
Sara blushed and took it and the three returned to the Pory-Car.
Cyber drove the three trainers into Pewter City.
“Do we have time to watch gym battle here?” Sara asked.
“What for, you know what’ll happen. Brock will
try intimidating some young trainer and quickly get his butt whooped.
Sorry, but you’ll recall even my Caterpie beat him…” Icy replied.
“Hmm, you’re right, Surge is MUCH better. He and
Raichu, wow,” Sara taunted back. Icy sank his head and drove to the
Pidgeyport.
“We have our own plane, may we take off?” Icy asked the
control tower people.
“Certainly. Please taxi to runway 4 and you are
clear for takeoff. Safe flight.”
“Thank you.” Icy turned to Cyber. “Cyber,
initiate jet transformation program now.” Cyber rematerialized as a
jet plane and the three hopped in. “Prepare for takeoff!” 3…
2… 1… GO!!! Cyber zipped down the runway and was airborne in no
time. “Vermilion City, here we come!”
“WOW!” said some unimportant bystander.
And so, as our heroes fly into the afternoon sky, what new
adventures await them, just over the horizon?
